Using an integrated, interpersonal, metatheoretical approach, I employ the ACA ethics & definition of counseling to empower clients to reach their goals, while emphasizing a collaborative relationship with safety, trust, empathy and unconditional positive regard. I also use evidence-based, neuroscience-informed, cognitive behavioral, solution focused, transdiagnostic, family systems, and play therapy (with children) theories and techniques.
As a Doctor of Counseling, Professor of Counseling and Licensed Professional Counselor, I offer a compassionate & collaborative approach to helping children, adolescents, adults and families with a variety of life, transition, education, career, and mental health issues. I began counseling people of all ages and issues in a variety of settings including private practice, community clinics, university career services, K-12 schools, and residential treatment 25 years ago.
My specialty areas include evidence-based counseling and psychotherapy, personal growth & wellness, and support groups. I also provide comprehensive assessments & evaluations. I look forward to working with new clients of all ages and backgrounds. Please contact me for counseling & consultation services in Telluride, Colorado.
